Barboursville Wins in San Francisco

Congratulations to Barboursville Winery for being awarded 2012 Best in Class, at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, for their 2008 Cabernet Franc Reserve. Barboursville Winery won out over competitors from California, Washington, New York, and also Virginia. Barboursville has won many awards from wine juries over the years for their world-class Cabernet Franc.
The Winery is located on the grounds of Barboursville; a National Register of Historic Places Site. The original estate was built for Virginia's 19th Governor, James Barbour and was designed by Thomas Jefferson, who was also a wine enthusiast.
In 2007 Queen Elizabeth II of England was served wine from Barboursville during her trip to Virginia, a testament to its high quality. Visitors are welcome to taste the wine that is fit for a queen, partake in the rich history embodied at this historic site, and enjoy the lush natural beauty of the landscape so carefully selected to house an architectural treasure.
