Oscar and Golden Globe-award winning actor Richard Dreyfuss and movie producer and director of epic American-history films Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, Ron Maxwell, were featured speakers at our 2010 Conference and participated in the unveiling of the JTHG Partnership’s Of the Student, By the Student, For the Student™ service-learning project and mini-movies being developed by area middle-school students in ’s Monticello.

Both avid American history lovers and highly accomplished award-winning filmmakers, Dreyfuss and Maxwell spoke to the importance of engaging youth in our nation’s heritage and will congratulate the 180 sixth-graders from Albemarle County’s Sutherland Middle School on their work to connect Americans to our historic places.
