Lovettsville, VA

History:

Lovettsville is Loudoun's northernmost town, situated close to the Potomac River. It was founded in 1733 by German farm families who migrated south from Pennsylvania. Lovettsville enthusiastically recognizes its heritage with the annual Oktoberfest festivities, where the entire town and visitors enjoy German food and beverages, music, dance, craft sales, and a Volksmarch. An authentic German meal launches the event the evening before. Lovettsville is also known for its spectacular July 3rd celebration. (Yes, it is the third. The town is always the first in the county to celebrate July 4th!)
