The Journey Through Hallowed Ground Living Legacy Program

The American Civil War, the most defining moment in our Nation’s history, is being commemorated from 2011 through 2015. Encompassing Harper’s Ferry and Manassas through Antietam and Gettysburg and on to Appomattox, is a fascinating chronicle of the beginning, middle, and end of the Civil War.

During the Civil War 620,000 soldiers died. Many of them fought on the battlefields with the The Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area.

We seek to commemorate the Civil War 150th by planting 620,000 trees.

One for each soldier who died, as a somber yet powerful living legacy along the Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Scenic Byway from Monticello to Gettysburg.

Please join us in our efforts, learn their story, honor them.

Donate $100 to dedicate a tree for a one of the fallen today.
