The Legacy of War: A Conversation about Remembering and Forgetting the Use and Abuse of Hallowed Ground

DATE AND TIME

November 19, 2020 7:00 pm November 19, 2020 8:30 pm
The Manassas Battlefield Trust is pleased to host an exclusive virtual lecture with historian John Hennessy as he discusses the “The Legacy of War.”
With an emphasis on the Manassas and Fredericksburg battlefields, Mr. Hennessy will look at how interpretation has evolved at these sites over the decades, how our perceptions of battlefields today is evolving, and why it all matters. With public conversations and renewed media focus on the legacy of the Civil War this is a timely and pertinent conversation. We hope you can join us!
Like many organizations we’ve suffered the loss of several in person events so far this year, which normally help us raise important funds. At the same time, we recognize that this is also difficult time for many of our devoted supporters. As such, this program will be “Give what you can.” We thank you in advance for supporting our mission and we hope you enjoy this exclusive program!
