Journey Through Hallowed Ground Named National Scenic Byway Print E-mail

national scenic byway logoWith U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood’s official designation, partners all along the Journey have created the nation’s newest National Scenic Byway!
Congratulations and Thank you!

This is one of the highest designations the Secretary can bestow upon a public road. It means the region will be included in a world-wide marketing campaign attracting visitors from across the globe. It also means local jurisdictions along the Journey receive elevated status when applying for funding.

national scenic byway logoIt also means, Thank you! As a way of saying thanks, we are hosting a Whistle Stop Tour travelling your National Scenic Byway to "drive" home that tourism works for the region!
And you are invited!

Please join state and local officials on October 21st — either at one of the scheduled community events seen in the Media Advisory below. Or you are welcome to join us for the entire rolling celebration by hopping on the luxury motorcoach provided by New World Tours as we take in some of the most beautiful scenery in the nation. Boxed lunches and dinners will be provided to those on the motor coach.
